Welcome! Judi has a master’s level education in mental health counseling from Northern Vermont University. Judi has several years’ experience working with children and families in many capacities and has learned how to provide client-centered interventions and find creative ways to connect and facilitate therapeutic change. Many of the issue’s children face today mimic the issues adults face in their day-to- day lives. Some of these common issues include anxiety, depression, and grief. The goal is to break down problems into manageable parts, so children can better understand and cope with them. Utilizing Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) in helping improve a child’s moods, anxiety, and behavior by examining confused or distorted patterns of thinking, Judi will teach children that thoughts cause feelings and moods which can influence behavior. During CBT, a child learns to identify harmful thought patterns. Judi then helps the child replace this thinking with thoughts that result in more appropriate feelings and behaviors. Judi creates a space to safely process, without judgement, and nurtures the courage to be imperfect. Judi offers therapeutic crafting to those interested in crafting to heal.
