Parenting is tough! Do you wish children came with a manual? Children today are facing so many more challenges than you did in your day…. Social media, bullying, substance use, divorce, death of a loved one, or a big move.
Technology is keeping the youth of today entertained and occupied and the benefits of arts and crafts is being lost. There are many benefits of arts and crafts that go beyond simply allowing your kids to express themselves in a more creative way.
Youth look for many different ways to express their emotions and thoughts. Arts and crafts can give them what they need in a safe environment that they can control and shape in any way they want. We use materials such as paint, chalk, canvas, vinyl, acrylic and so much more.
In children, boredom stimulates their inherent ability to be creative. Encourage your child to figure out what to do with their time, encourage your child to face boredom proactively, to think in a positive way about what they can do to resolve it. There are no limits to children’s imagination, and arts and crafts are a great way for them to turn that endless imagination into something more productive. There are many materials and colors to explore which allows children to pick those that they find the most enjoyable.
Arts and crafts create a common ground for all the kids who may have different interests or simply haven’t met yet, because most of them will love creating things with their hands—and see what other kids have created. And since children are naturally curious, they will gladly approach another child if they like what that kid has drawn, painted, or colored. Art comes with endless possibilities and choices. All these choices inspire kids to think critically, decide and evaluate their own decisions so they can repeat them or change them the next time, making them more confident about making their choices.
Crafting with care can work with your child and others to learn social emotional manners and communicate in a fun way.
